Larry Freeborg
At age 40, life as Larry Freeborg knew it came to an abrupt halt in just one week. Shortly after Christmas in 1979, he faced the tragic loss of his wife to leukemia, followed by losing his job of 18 years just days later. Suddenly, he found himself a widowed father of four, with no income and no clear direction ahead.
What ensued was not a swift recovery, but instead, a decades-long journey of learning how to grieve, how to embrace love, and how to rekindle hope despite unimaginable loss. During this journey, Larry uncovered a simple yet profound truth: no matter what life takes away, you always have the power to choose.
Today, Larry Freeborg is the author of Always At Choice and the founder of Stepping Through the Gate, a wise-elder coaching service. His work through writing and coaching has transformed lives, helping individuals transition from significant losses into a state of healing, renewal, and vibrant life possibilities. Additionally, he collaborates with business leaders, facilitating workshops and discussions that clarify their workplace goals while navigating challenges together. For the past 30 years, Larry has worked as an independent coach and consultant.
